RescueShield was founded in 2018 by three people who had seen the same problem from completely different angles — and decided to do something about it.
The Beginning
Marcus Reynolds was a partner at a major IP law firm. He had spent 15 years watching brilliant brands lose market share, customer trust, and revenue to counterfeiters — not because they lacked the legal right to fight back, but because the process was too slow, too expensive, and too fragmented.
Karen Liu had built threat detection systems at a major financial institution. She knew that AI could identify brand threats faster than any human analyst — if you built the right model.
When Marcus and Karen met David Torres at a brand protection conference in 2017, the conversation that started over coffee became the founding thesis of RescueShield: What if you combined legal expertise with AI-powered detection and integrated enforcement into a single platform that any brand could afford?
